SALTASH is to host its third Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in March and the event is open for entries.

Setting off from Saltash Football Club, the event on Sunday, March 20, will use a circuit close to the town centre with dozens of people expected to take part.

The Tamar Trotters’ Colin Bunting, who organises the event, said: ‘The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in Saltash has always been popular, and the 2015 event raised around £3,000 for good causes.

‘From little ones with their mums and dads, to runners-up against the clock, there’s something for everyone to make themselves feel proud on this special day.’

The event is part of the Sport Relief fundraising weekend taking place from Friday, March 18, to Sunday, March 20, and there are more ways than ever for people to take part.

The Saltash Mile is one of many events being coordinated by the Tamar Trotters as part of their 20th anniversary celebrations.

The running club has around 320 members from Saltash and the surrounding areas.

Meeting twice a week at Saltash Rugby Club, it caters for all ages, with a particular emphasis on enjoyment plus achievement of physical goals.
