What a sight for sore eyes – first a bat bridge over the new Dobwalls Bypass and now BT telegraph poles in the middle of a cycle path (Collision fears on new path, Cornish Times, 07.11.08).
Who passed the plans for this new path which will also be used by pedestrians and horse riders?
The poles would be ideal for horse riders to tie up and take a break!
But, seriously, I hope no one has an accident while BT looks into moving the poles.
Come on planning officers, did you know the poles were in the way? Lessons to be learnt, as they say.

n Cornwall County Council has issued the following statement about the new path:
The construction of the cycle path, adjacent to the A390 between Kit Hill and Sevenstones, is not yet complete, we still have to paint white line markings and erect signage – and we are liaising with BT concerning the removal of its poles.
It would have been preferable for the poles to have been removed before work commenced, however, the cycle path construction schedule has been dictated by funding timescales and BT will remove them as soon as it is able.
Cornwall Highways has received one call from a member of the public regarding the poles in the path and several enquiries asking when the path will be open.
