A local businesswoman has won an award from the Cornwall Education Business Partnership for her support and guidance in work experience. Marilyn Grose, who owns Loopy Looks Costumes in Saltash, received the annual Platinum Provider Award for reaching a 'quality standard' while providing student placements. This year Marilyn took the programme into Saltash.net Community School to pilot a new scheme in which 20 students set up a Loopy Looks office for a week in one of the classrooms. Here they were given the task of organising a trade fair promoting the six main services of the company and inviting guests to attend the fair at the end of the week. The students ran the whole operation from start to finish which included creating their own business cards, posters and display boards. Curriculum Manager Tom Hickie, who made the award, said: 'Loopy Looks Costumes has developed an excellent work experience package for students which involves them in all parts of the business.'
