South East Cornwall has woken to a covering of snow causing widespread problems across the area.

Police advice remains to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary, with many minor roads covered in thick ice.

‘Road traffic accidents are now starting to be reported to us by those insisting on driving this morning’, said Devon and Cornwall Police.

The A30 between Bodmin and Exeter has only just re-opened.

Cornwall Council’s silver command centre has opened to manage the situation. Cllr Geoff Brown, at the centre, has advised drivers to delay their journeys.
