A SOUTH East Cornwall couple have celebrated their sapphire wedding anniversary, marking 65 years of marriage.

A congratulatory telegram from the Queen was among the highlights of the celebrations for Margaret and Gerry Edwards, who live in Liskeard.

They were married at Holy Apostles Church, Charlton Kings, Cheltenham in August 1952.

They celebrated their big day with family and friends at home.

Margaret and Gerry have five children, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Margaret enjoys going to art classes, and making celebration cards. She does voluntary work at a local charity shop.

Gerry enjoys watching football and is a very keen supporter of his home town team, Cheltenham Town. He enjoys DIY around the home.

They both enjoy gardening and growing their own vegetables.

And they love to travel abroad in their camper van, their favourite destination being France.

They both keep active and enjoy spending time with family and friends.
