SANTAS on bikes will be riding out solo this year to raise vital funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

The mass convoy of motorcyclists donned in festive costume heading from Ivybridge to Little Harbour in St Austell is a striking sight each December.

While the event can’t happen en masse this year and the bikers won’t be visiting Little Harbour, motorbike lovers across the South West are being encouraged to take part in their own Santa on a Bike ride over this weekend – December 4-6.

Last year the ride to Little Harbour raised £5,634.

Riders are still keen to get out and raise as much money and awareness as they can for Little Harbour, say organisers. The hospice has continued to provide vital care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families through an extremely challenging year.

The charity simply asks that Santas ride solo, plan a safe and enjoyable route adhering to all government guidelines, and not to visit their local hospice as they usually would, but to simply donate online instead.

Participants are encouraged to dress up in festive attire, decorate their bikes and encourage friends, family and colleagues to make a donation to CHSW via justgiving.com/santasonabike2020
