Veterans in charity

gig voyage

SALTASH will be one of the stops en route, on June 24, for a group of Rame rowers who are to gig row from Calstock to Cawsand for charity.

The Rame veterans are due to set out from Calstock between 8.30-9am, and hopefully arrive at Cawsand about 3.30pm, but on the way they will be stopping at St Budeaux, Saltash, Torpoint and Mount Edgcumbe, collecting money as they go. Proceeds are for the Children's Hospice South West.

One of the club rowers, Steve Thorn, said the event follows on from a similar row last year which raised £2,000 - a figure they are hoping to improve upon.

After landing at Cawsand, the veterans will be making their way to The Galleon pub to hold a raffle.
