Community chest cash
SALTASH Partnership met at the Guildhall on February 8 when vice chairman, Ron Freeman, presided due to the indisposition of chairman, Stephen Tait.
Various applications had been received for the Community Chest funding, and the Partnership had approved: £500 for T-shirts for the town band when they visit Austria this year; Saltash rowing club £500; Ashtorre centre £470; Youngstagers £500 towards equipment; and Livewire £290.
Pip Miller reported on the progress of the Celtic Cross project and said £20,000 had been raised by the private consortium, with £15,000 from Cornwall Enterprise, and £5,000 public donations. Partnership project officer, Louise Cox, said there had been more than 800 visits to the website, and new pages were being prepared for the Community Chest fund, Saltash regeneration study, the Ashtorre centre and the Celtic Cross project. It was said Waterside phase one is considering SRB funding.
