Saltash Rowing Club enjoyed great success at the latest Cornish Rowing Association (CRA) regatta, hosted by Polperro Rowing Club at Siblyback Lake, near Bodmin.

The CRA, whose members race in 18-foot flashboats and 15-foot Skiffs, hold a series of regattas throughout the summer.

The men from Saltash had a fine day, taking home wins in the men's four-oar, (pictured above), Cornish Randan and Pair of Paddles.

The ladies also performed well, gaining good results in their races.

When the two joined forces for the mixed races, Saltash yet again came out on top, with wins in both the senior mixed four-oar and the mixed oar match.

The junior section at Saltash is also thriving with young talent, and the club have been able to field crews in all junior races this year. The best junior results of the day came in the form of second places in several races, including the under-14 four-oar, under-14 Cornish Randan and under-16 mixed four-oar. Lewis Stuart also came back with a silver in the under-14 Pair of Paddles event.

The regatta at Polperro has helped to contribute to a successful season so far for the club. The results are very promising, as many of the young rowers have only been rowing a matter of months. The next CRA regatta, being hosted by Penryn, takes place tomorrow.
