Saltash and District Darts League

The semi-finals of the League Cup took place on Friday at SWMC. The draw was held at 7.30 pm, with five games required to take the tie. Union Inn were pitted against Coryton Arms, with the latter starting well by taking all three team games. Brian Hoskins and Phil Kinsman then took the two singles which were necessary.

Kevin Cook and Paul Hames took two singles for Union to gain some consolation. The highlight scoring-wise were two 180s max from Coryton Roger Prescott and Trevor Hewison.

The other semi-final saw Rodney A drawn against Brunel Lads. Rodney took the three team games but Mark Yeoman took the first single to give the Lads some hope. However, wins for Rodney's Mike Fluhrer and John Cook secured the win, which meant that Rodney were through to the final.

In the final, Rodney A led Coryton Arms 2-1 after the team games. They then took the first three singles through John Cook and Mike and John Fluhrer to take the trophy.

The Ladies' Charity Double was played at the Brunel on Sunday and the winners were Brunel's Enid Crofts and Maria O' Brien, who defeated Rodney's Donna Miller and Sue Brandon in the final.

The Finals and presentations will take place at SWMC tonight (Friday). Players should report for a 7.30 pm start. Captains are reminded to bring nominations for the most sporting team as well as a prize for the draw.
