The Hall for Cornwall welcomed a Royal visitor this week.
The Earl of Wessex, who is the Hall’s patron, joined trustees and staff for a buffet lunch provided by members of the Cornwall Federation of Women’s Institutes. He then had a look around the theatre’s transformation project. The refurbished theatre will provide 300 more seats in a new three-tiered auditorium. It will pave the way for larger scale shows to be premiered in Cornwall for the first time. The building will also offer more flexible space designed to host everything from theatre, music and comedy to gaming sessions and conferences.
The theatre this week also has a new Honorary President - internationally renowned lyricist, producer and author, Sir Tim Rice.
