NEW road markings at the Carkeel Roundabout are to be changed after complaints from motorists.
‘Improvements worth £3.27m were recently completed at the roundabout,’ said Alexis Field, of Highways England.
‘While the road markings passed our safety checks, drivers told us that changes might help them navigate the roundabout and that is why we are carrying out the work.’ On the southbound approach of the A388 Callington Road, traffic destined for Saltash will be directed to the righthand lane, and the road markings on the roundabout will be amended to guide drivers through.
On the westbound exit onto the A38, the markings will be altered to provide more guidance for merging traffic.
A Highways England spokesperson said: ‘Significant work such as this often requires some fine tuning and we hope the alterations will help everyone using this section of the A38.’
