This week Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service is taking part in the UK’s biggest road safety event, Road Safety Week.
The event is being coordinated by Brake, the road safety charity.
As part of the campaign, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service is running a series of workshops to promote key messages about driving safely, to groups of employees who drive as part of their work, as well as delivering vital messages around the dangers of roadside distractions to Year 7 pupils in a bid to increase their safety.
The theme for the 2016 campaign is ’Make the Brake pledge’. The aim is to get people all over the country to understand the six key things they can do to protect themselves and the people around them, and reduce emissions and pollution from vehicles. The six Brake Pledge points are: Slow, Sober, Secure, Silent, Sharp and Sustainable.
