AFTER last week’s cancellation due to the boggy ground, a different venue has been arranged for this Friday (March 11) for the Cornish Times-sponsored Primary Schools Cross Country League event at Liskeard.

The fifth and final event of this cross-country season is now to be held in fields opposite the entrance to Lux Park Leisure Centre, Liskeard PL14 3HZ, by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Dymond.

Organisers the East Cornwall Harriers have provided the following information:

PARKING

Limited parking available at Lux Park Leisure Centre and the Liskeard School overflow carpark off Coldstyle Road.

AFTER 3.30pm (after school buses have departed) please park in Liskeard School & Community College off Greenbank Road.

To reach the XC venue, walk through School Tennis Courts and turn left following path along back of School towards Coldstyle Rd Overflow Carpark - a short level walk.

Please park where directed by marshals.

THERE WILL NO PARKING ALONG COLDSTYLE ROAD - IT WILL BE CONED OFF!

PLEASE NOTE RUN START TIMES:

To ease parking congestion and allow buses, pupils and parents to leave school premises, the first race will start at 4.10pm:

Yr 3/4 Girls - 4.10pm

Yr 3/4 Boys - 4.20pm

Yr 5/6 Girls - 4.30pm

Yr 5/6 Boys - 4.45pm

Each school can only enter a maximum of 7 children for each race with the first 4 children back to count for the team score.

Registration from 3:30pm. Could each school provide one person to collect the results wallet and return it to the registration car, before leaving the venue. Please ensure children are supervised throughout and the premises are left “litter free.” It is up to the person in charge of each school to ensure that their children are supervised throughout the afternoon.

Drinks - bottled water/flavoured/sport available to purchase throughout afternoon.

Running across country can be hazardous! A thorough risk assessment of the course has been undertaken but all participants must be aware that they compete at their own risk and neither organisers nor landowners will accept any responsibility for loss, damage or injury howsoever caused. EACH CHILD MUST BE IN GOOD HEALTH AND HAVE DONE SOME SUITABLE TRAINING.
