Workmen in specially-designed baskets, suspended many metres off the ground, have been refurbishing electricity pylons in South East Cornwall. A £30m National Grid project, which started in January, will see 31 miles of pylons between the Tamar Valley and Mid-Cornwall given a makeover. During the works, 145 pylons will get new wire for the first time as well as a coat of paint.
