A PROPOSAL to build a huge wind turbine at the Eden Project has led to objections from residents – who held up visitors to the tourist attraction at its entrance gates for an hour in a bid to make their feelings known.

Protesters gathered on Monday and the concerns expressed were regarding noise and the size of the proposed 127-metre high turbine. The plan for the turbine, which Eden has highlighted as an installation which would add to renewable energy sources, is to be considered by Restormel borough councillors.

The objectors have pointed out that other renewable energy sources, such as geothermal sources, could be investigated.

They were unhappy about the height of the turbine which would be more than 400ft.
