A milestone in Torpoint’s Neighbourhood Plan has been reached with formal adoption of the Vision for Torpoint by the town council. The 180-page document is the result of more than 12 months of surveys and consultations by the Neighbourhood Development Plan steering group and council members. ‘Now it has been adopted, the project team can begin to put together the policies, which, once approved through a town-wide referendum, will ensure control of potential future development in the town, in line with community expectations,’ said a council spokesperson. The Vision for Torpoint will be presented at the Annual Parish meeting in May, which all residents of the town can attend. The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group is open to new members. Anyone interested in helping draft the plan’s policies, or who would like to get involved in its delivery, should email Milly Southworth at [email protected] or call 01752 814165.
