Residents of Polperro and Lansallos are being asked to spend a few minutes filling out a survey to help determine the future of their parish.

Questionnaires will be delivered to every household and business in the coming fortnight, as the Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) steering group seeks to gather as many local views as possible.

Consultations over the past 15 months with local residents and groups have thrown up several priorities which could become cornerstones of the plan.

These include: setting a target number of new houses the community will need by 2030 and identifying sites for these; finding suitable sites for workshops and a ‘hub’ for home-based businesses; and the development of the football field facilities as a recreation and community centre.

Another important theme to emerge is that the parish’s green credentials should be strengthened and any future development carried out in a sustainable manner, said Sally Harmer, of the steering group.

Every returned questionnaire will be entered into a prize draw.

It is hoped that the Neighbourhood Development Plan can be finalised over the coming months.
