Looe residents are being asked to share their ideas of their favourite views around the town as part of a new photographic and creative writing competition.

Running the competition is the Neighbourhood Plan group, who want to identify which views are the most significant to local people.

The group says there may be a case to include a policy in the Looe Neighbourhood Plan that protects the most cherished and important views in the local landscape.

Chair of the steering group Councillor Edwina Hannaford. ‘We would like local people to submit a photograph showing the area involved, with a note explaining why the view is significant to them – or people can write a short story explaining why the area is special.’

Each of the entries to the competition will be judged by a panel and the winning photograph or story will receive £100.

The competition will be open for entries until Tuesday, January 31.
