PRE-planning advice has been given over a project to build three new houses in Pensilva.

The scheme off School Road would also include some community parking spaces to serve the cemetery.

Planning officer George Shirley said that the proposal had merits and could be considered a sustainable plan: three new houses was an appropriate number for the village. While the officer agreed that the location would qualify as a “rounding-off” plot, there was a concern that the sub-division of a paddock would effectively create another, future space that could be earmarked for “rounding-off” and that this scenario would be contrary to planning policy.

The officer recommended omitting any potential vehicular access point into this paddock from the development site and providing an well established boundary feature.
