Outline planning permission has been granted for 17 new homes on land to the north of the Methodist Church in Callington town centre.

The application, submitted by the Methodist Church, was supported by the town council, but attracted some opposition locally from those who felt that access to the site, off Haye Road, is already difficult.

Concerns were also raised over infrastructure in the town and impingement on neighbours.

Following negotiation with planning officers, the number of affordable homes within the plan has been upped from three to four of the proposed houses.
