POLPERRO Community Council is waiting to hear if planners are prepared to look favourably on a proposal for 30 new homes in the village. Pre-application advice is being sought for houses on agricultural land off Sand Hill, access to which would be via an existing, recently-built development. The scheme being put forward by the Rowe family would consist of 15 local need and 15 openmarket homes. Westward Housing’s development of 18 affordable homes was completed in 2015, after a longfought battle against the scheme by residents. A spokesperson for the parish council said that the council understood no further development would be allowed to take place at the site, given the proximity to the coastal Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
