Have your say on the future of Looe – that is the message to all the residents of the town from the Neighbourhood Planning team. This spring, team members will be running drop-in sessions and visiting as many local events as they can with the aim of hearing everyone’s ideas. Without grass-roots input into the future of Looe, planning decisions over the next 15 years will be made on the basis of the county-wide plan and national framework, without necessarily taking into account important local factors, said Councillor Edwina Hannaford, who is chairing the Neighbourhood Planning team. ‘We want to hear people’s ideas as to how we can tackle the challenges that the town faces, and make sure that it can be protected and improved for now and for future generations,’ she said. ‘I’m sure there are some brilliant ideas out there that could make a great contribution.’ Detailed questionnaires will be sent to every household in Looe, with special versions for businesses and younger people. A new website can be found at www. futurelooe.town and the plan is also on Facebook and Twitter.
