Pensilva Summer Skittles league

With seven matches played so far, the points have been hard to come by for the Golden Girls from the Health Centre, however last week the foursome of skipper Tricia, Catherine, Diane and Margie were up against the Rascals, who were in front by five pins at half-time.

The second period saw the girls gain two points as they were three pins to the advantage in these final four legs and they just missed out of the overall total by a mere two pins. It turned out to be the most exciting, lively game of the evening, where both teams deserved the end result as all eight players are enjoying their first season of skittles.

The Bodmin Lander really got the better of the Gremlins in both halves to add six more points to their total and so stay in top spot with Ken Jeffery accounting for 81 of their high 279 pin total.

Tigers were hoping to narrow the gap at the top of the table but found the Middlers in good form, particularly their new signing Pat paris, who ended the evening with a useful total of 78 pins. However, the Rendle foursome were much improved in the final for legs to clinch a 4-2 pt win and hold second spot.

Hillsecs held a two pins advantage after four legs in their game against third placed Galaxy and looked set to take all six points but the latter showed an improved second half performance to rescue two points, winning this this period by just one pin, but it is close at the top.

New signing for the Potholers, Mike Thomas, played a large part in his team's 6-0 win over the Quarriers, who found the spares hard to come by, losing out by 29 pins overall.
