A Christmas fancy dress ball in Liskeard was organised by the charity Ignite Youth Cornwall as a forerunner to a new weekly youth club in the town.

Tim Cox will be joint youth leader with Lou Thomas. Both are from Liskeard.

Tim said: ‘Starting from January 6, the youth club, for 11- to 16-year-olds, will meet on Fridays at the Public Hall from 7.30pm- 9pm.

’We just want young people to come along and enjoy socialising in a safe space.

’There will be games such as Xbox, table tennis, and a coffee and sweet bar.

’We are looking for our own permanent base where we will be able to offer more leisure facilities such as a pool table.’
