A live music night for a Liskeard youngster battling cancer has raised almost £4,500. The ‘Tackle it with Charlie’ concert was staged to support Charlie McKay, who is undergoing treatment in Bristol, and his family. ‘Thanks to the generosity of family, friends and the local community, organisers of Tackle It With Charlie band night were able to present a cheque for £4,447 to Charlie’s Fund,’ said Clare Collins, who helped to organise the event. ‘The family and Charlie are overwhelmingly touched by the generosity, prayers and best wishes that they have been receiving over the past months from everyone.’ A quiz and supper night for Charlie’s Fund will be held on Friday, April 15 in Dobwalls – for information about the event, contact Caroline on 07782157599.
