Downderry Rovers entertained St Agnes A at their home ground at Polperro, keen to avenge their cup final loss on penalties against the Aggies last season.

Downderry put in a convincing performance to secure all three points.

Although St Agnes started with more possesion, Rovers beat them on the break.

Mark Lemin scored his second goal of the season to give the hosts the lead, and Martin Mote made it 2-0 before half-time.

After the interval, Downderry continued their scoring, with goals from Paul Thornton, another from Mote, and new signing Neil Higson.

Goalkeeper John Piccarello had little to do, but pulled off the save of the game with a low dive to his right.

However, he was unable to keep out a well-converted penalty seconds before time.
