BOAT owners and sailing groups are to ask for a rethink on plans for massive increases in River Tamar mooring charges at a meeting today.
Talks are to be held following a stormy meeting in Saltash last week at which more than 100 people were present to hear angry opposition to plans for a hike in charges by Plymouth City Council.
The plans will lead to a 96 per cent rise in charges paid, said Ian Scott, vice-commodore of Torpoint Mosquito Sailing Club.
Members of six Tamar boat users’ groups will meet the city council today.
