A monthly Repair Café is being launched at the Tamar Valley Centre in Drakewalls on Saturday, February 15 between 10.30am and 2.30pm.

Coralie Barrow, Development Officer for the Tamar Valley AONB, said: ‘If you are handy, and know how to fix electrical items, bikes, ceramics, jewellery, clothes, textiles or furniture, we would love to hear from you. Or if you would like to help out in the café, please also get in touch.’

If you need something repaired call the Tamar Valley AONB team on 01822 835030 or email [email protected] to book a slot. If it’s a minor quick fix, feel free to pop in on the day and enjoy tea and cake while you wait. All repairs will depend on the expertise of the fixers. Donations will raise funds for Tamar TLC.

If you can’t make February 15 the Repair Café will return to the Tamar Valley Centre on Thursday mornings between 10am and 1pm on March 12, April 16 and May 14. This will coincide with ‘Coffee & Conversation’, the donations café that has just celebrated its first anniversary.

Coffee & Conversation is open every Thursday morning, offering tea, coffee, biscuits and cake. Everyone is welcome, including well-behaved dogs. It has provided a well-earned post-walk stop for Walking for Health walkers who generally finish their walks at the Centre.
