CARLSBERG SOUTH WESTERN LEAGUE The Ashes' management appear to have finally instilled their will on this new-look squad as this impressive victory at Bolitho Park took their unbeaten league run to four games. Even more impressive is that they have, in that run, drawn with league leaders Bodmin Town and beaten a Launceston side that were unbeaten for six game before prevented this young, and talented, Argyle side from returning to the top of the table. Yet, the first half of this game looked so different. Argyle's youngster's dictated the play as they produced a half of great football that lacked just the one important ingredient – a cutting edge! Once again, Stuart Gibsons' side were made to pay as Saltash took a 56th minute lead when Gavin Coulton's challenge on goalkeeper Tim Sandercombe resulted in him dropping the ball. It was substitute Ryan McClements who arrived in the right place at the right time to put a waist-high volley into the roof of the net from eight yards. From this stage onwards, it was Saltash who were to dictate proceedings but the nearest they came to adding to their score was seven minutes from time. A corner from the left was dropped by Sandercombe but Dave Smith's goalbound header was cleared off the line by King.
