Saltash mayor, Mona Tomaszewska, accompanied by her husband and consort, John, switched on the lights on the Christmas tree sited on the patio at Greenwich Court last Thursday.

The Court is the residence for retired Naval personnel.

The mayor was welcomed by the warden, Sonia Millard, and other guests attending included David Heyhoe director of Greenwich Hospital in London and his wife, Commander Ton O'Rourke general secretary of the Church of England soldiers and sailors and airmen's clubs, Mrs D Dalgleuish property and personnel officer from Greenwich.
