The centre of Looe was closed off early on Tuesday evening after a car was in collision with a man holding a baby.

Police were called to the incident, at a junction near the Cornish pasty shop, just after 5.30pm and the road remained closed until 6.50. The woman driving the Kia was interviewed and the man and baby, who had fallen to the ground, were checked out by an ambulance crew and did not need to be taken to hospital.

A police spokesperson said that no further action would be taken against the motorist.
