A wildflower meadow is being created at the Wooldown in Looe.

The green area, which has views across the bay and Looe Island, is owned by East Looe Town Trust and the aim is to restore the open glades on the slopes above the coastal footpath.

It is hoped the conservation project will encourage bees and butterflies to the area which is already home to the rare long-horned mining bee which is declining nationally through a lack of flower-rich habitats.
