Highways England is advising drivers to expect delays to their journeys today after three serious incidents in the region this morning.

The M5 southbound remains closed between junction 28 (Cullompton) and junction 29 (Exeter) following an incident at 6.45am and the A30 is currently closed between the A35 and A303 following a multi-vehicle incident at Otter Vale at 7.35am.

Both roads remain closed while police carry out their investigations, and drivers are advised to consider alternative routes or delay their journeys to Devon and Cornwall wherever possible.

An earlier incident also closed the M5 southbound between junction 25 (Taunton) and junction 26 (Wellington) but the carriageway reopened at 10am, although residual delays remain.
