I would like, through the good offices of your newspaper, to pass on my heartfelt thanks to the members of the Looe Lions and all their helpers for the superb weeks entertainment that we in Looe have so much enjoyed. The weather was very much against them, but with great fortitude they persevered, and their faith was rewarded with weather windows allowing the outdoor events to take place, with the culminating procession on Saturday. From the dancing in the Chapel, the choir in the Lifeboat House, the fun on the sea front and beach, the fun run and three legged race around the town, and the Carnival Princess and her attendants, what a magnificent turn out, in numbers, tableau's, floats, bands and costumes. The whole week has been a fantastic success and I pass on my thanks to all who helped organise and took part, absolutely brilliant, thank you. COUNCILLOR RJ OVERD Looe Town Mayor
