SOUTH West Lakes and the Caradon Observatory team are inviting local people to look to the stars during a nocturnal-themed evening at Siblyback Lake.

The event on Friday October 22 is aimed at families and will start with a twilight walk, learning about the nocturnal animals that roam the lake.

As it gets dark, the Caradon Observatory team will help participants to observe the constellations visible from the lake, and the evening will finish with an art activity blending water and stars.

The ‘Stars @ Siblyback’ event is part of the charity’s I Love Water project, which is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and South West Water. It’s aim is to raise awareness of water as a crucial natural resource through the delivery of environmental activities for schools, volunteers and visitors.

Stars @ Siblyback starts at 6.30pm and finishes at 9pm, and is not suitable for those uncomfortable walking in the dark on uneven ground or for children under six.
