LOOE’S Museum team say they are excited about welcoming the public again when they reopen to the public on Tuesday (October 13).

People are being invited to book private, COVID-secure visits to the Old Guildhall Museum and Gaol on Higher Market Street.

“We will be operating a pre-booked, timed slot system from October 13 for groups of up to four visitors,” said Petra Stephenson of the museum team.

Open days are Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11am-4pm, and Wednesdays and Sundays between 11am-1.45pm. Each visit will start on the hour and will last up to 45 minutes.

Anyone wishing to book a visit should email [email protected], stating the preferred date and time, plus an alternative, the name, number of people in the group and a contact number: staff will respond as soon as possible to confirm the booking.

Brian Galipeau, who chairs the East Looe Town Trust, which manages the museum, said that the team had been working incredibly hard to get the venue ready for the public.

Petra added: “If there is a specific topic relating to the history of Looe that you are interested in, please also include that in your email so we can prepare.

“We are so pleased to be able to welcome back visitors to our museum again.”
