Action over

dodgers

LOOE Harbour Commissioners are issuing a warning to motorists flouting the parking regulations on Buller Quay, that enough is enough and action is to be taken to put a stop to the problem.

At a recent harbour meeting commissioners spoke of complaints they had received from motorists abiding by the rules, who are fed up with the people who ignore them. They said some waited until the car park attendants had left for the day, and then parked their vehicles free of charge in the evening and in some cases overnight.

Harbour chairman Robert Newton has issued a statement reminding users of the town's busiest car park, that a 24 hour pay and display system is in operation for seven days a week, and in addition, only holders of appropriate parking permits are allowed to park in the allocated reserved spaces.

'We would like to advise the public using the car park that new measures are being implemented and that action will be taken against people abusing the system' he said.
