A LOOE RNLI volunteer has been recognised for two decades of dedication to the charity’s boathouse visits team.

Paul Sedgbeer was recently presented with his RNLI 20-year long service award by Lifeboat Operations Manager Clive Palfrey.

Clive said Paul is believed to be the first member of Looe’s boathouse visits team to receive the honour. He praised Paul’s commitment and said his 20 years of service was an inspiration to the wider RNLI community.

Paul joined the team shortly after retiring in 2006, after previously being approached by the late John Cuttell, who helped establish the visitor programme at the Albatross Boathouse.

He has since welcomed visitors, shown them the station’s lifeboats and launch tractors, and shared important safety advice.
