Looe Golf Club
Last Saturday saw one of the busiest days of the year at Looe Golf Club when the men held their Men's guest day.
Slight drizzle greeted the early starters at 8.00 am but by the time the last pairs went out at 3 pm - skies had cleared to give a fine sunny afternoon.
The prize-winners were in doubt right to the end with only four points covering the first 25 pairs. Heading the field were the father and son cvombination of Wally and Steve Drake with 44 points - heading off a strong challenge from John Arnold and Peter Bartlett both pairs finishing on 44 points, but Wally and Steve carding a better back nine score - in third place just a point behind were Terry Taroni and Graham Howarth.

26 Whitsand Bay Veterans played a Four-ball-better-ball on Tuesday when winners were - C Hancock and T Cochrane with 46 pts; N Harrop and R Cook 43 pts; R Jenkins and S Pearce 42.
On Friday the monthly medal was played, winners were - Division One - B V Rogers 81-15=66; T Cochrane 82-14=68. Division Two - A Sykes 90-23=67; L Gill 93-22=71.
Stableford - L Wilton 35 pts; R Jenkins 32, H Dyer 32.
