A FIRE crew have run, biked, swum – and scrubbed – their way to raising almost £500 for the Firefighters Charity.
With open days off the cards at the moment, members of Liskeard Community Fire Station’s Purple Watch decided to organise a charity car wash while their colleagues did an Ironman-length triathlon event in laps at the station.
While the 2.6mile swim was carried out in a water dam, the bike ride and run were completed outside on site with each mile being ticked off as it was finished.
A spokesperson for the station said: ’Thankyou so so much for the support, we raised an amazing £477 for the Firefighters Charity. A massive thankyou to everyone who donated online or on the day and we hope you’re happy with your gleaming cars.’
