Dobwalls and a

theatre project

DOBWALLS primary school is among the schools involved in a National Trust Theatre project being held at Lanhydrock House and Gardens.

The project, to take place from May 2-5, will take the form of an 'interactive' performance requiring an element of participation from students and children attending, who will have received a certain amount of preparation in the days leading up to their visit.

The project will deal with historical events such as Queen Victoria's death and the Boer War. On May 5 the theatre company will be providing a costumed interpretation of the property and give visitors the opportunity to hear more about the house and this period of history.

Sports day

at the school

LISKEARD town council's Mad Hatters Sports Day, scheduled to be held at Liskeard community college on Bank Holiday Monday May 7, at 2pm, will include a five-a-side football and best hat competitions.

Other events will take in tug-o-war, a pillow fight, a sack race, French cricket, a backwards race, croquet, wellie throwing, an egg and spoon race, rounders, skittles and a floral dance. Live entertainment will be provided.

Site meeting

in Liskeard

CARADON councillors are to hold a site meeting in Liskeard on May l to discuss a plan to construct a garage/workshop on land to the rear of 21 Trevecca Terrace, Liskeard.

The plan is by Mr and Mrs T Trevarthen. The site visit will start at 9.30am.

Maytime Forum

THE next meeting of Liskeard town forum is to be held in the council chamber at Luxstowe House on May 9 at 7.30pm.

Parish meeting

THE May town council meeting on May 8 will be preceded by the annual parish meeting, this starting in the Guildhall at 7pm.

The mayor choosing ceremony, at which Tony Powell will be made the new mayor of Liskeard, will be held on May 16 at 7pm.
