Phase three
site visit
CARADON councillors are to hold a site visit at the Oaklands Industrial Estate in Liskeard on Monday February 26 at 11am.
The members of the planning control committee (west) will be debating phase three of the estate, which comprises building a single storey light industrial unit with offices and conference rooms and providing parking facilities.
The application has been made by Caradon council.
Skate ramp
WORK is continuing on exactly where the recently acquired skate ramp is to be placed at Liskeard's Rapsons Field.
The town council has been asked by Caradon district council to commission proper drawings showing the siting, and incorporating any necessary health and safety requirements.
It has been agreed the site should be measured and legal requirements for fencing, and the council's public liability, investigated. It is planned to apply for grants for the project. Quotes are to be invited for the cost of carrying out a weekly visual check of the area, sweeping up broken glass if necessary, and cutting the grass when required.
It was also decided that replacement nets be purchased for the basketball courts.
Sports fun day
set for May
TO compensate for the cancellation of the New Year's Eve party in Liskeard, because of the weather conditions, a Sports Fun Day is to be held in May.
At the monthly meeting of Liskeard town council, on Tuesday, the mayor, Pat Ambler, said the event, to be called the 'Mad Hatters Sports Day', will include Morris dancers and a maypole.
