Liskeard Area Ladies Darts League- All the results and scores from finals night
The first players to the oche on finals night were the singles semi finalists. Suzanne Jones of Highwayman 'B' took the first leg but it was Tracy Wicks of Red Lion who hit the winning doubles in the next two legs to qualify for the final. She was to be joined in the final by Michelle Haley of Highwayman 'B' who had a 2-0 win against Carol Hoar of Highwayman 'A'.
In the mixed doubles semi finals Jan and Steve Stevens of Police Club were 2-0 winners against Sharon Julian and Nigel Doney of British Legion with Theresa Hoare and John Jefford of Dobsons 2-1 winners against Sylvia and Harry Griffin of Highwayman 'B'. The last of the semi finals were in the doubles competition and Sylvia Griffin and Michelle Haley of Highwayman 'B' were 2-0 winners against Barbara Bresland and Gwen Killinley of White Hart 'A' and Caole Cooke hit both the winning double to help her and Helen Harris of Red Lion to qualify for the final with a 2-0 win against Sue Williams and Angie Kurn of the Market.
The first of the finals was the Team Knock Out and once again Carole Cooke hit two winning doubles to give her Red Lion team a 2-0 win against Highwayman 'C'. In the Captains Competition final Jan Stevens of Police Club hit the winning doubles in the first and third legs to beat Judith Skinner of Sports Club 2-1. Police Club were also the winners of the Over 50's championship when Beryl Kitto beat Eileen Gunn of London Inn 2-0. In the Doubles final Michelle Haley of Highwayman 'B' hit a maximum 180 when her and partner Sylvia Griffin beat Helen Harris and Carole Cooke (Red Lion) 2-1. The Mixed Doubles championship went to Theresa Hoare and John Jefford (Dobsons) who beat Jan and Steve Stevens (Police Club) 2-0. The last match of the night was the singles final and Michelle Haley of Highwayman 'B' beat Tracy Wicks of Red Lion 2-0.
The trophies were presented by Pat Williams (nee'Wanless) who was the Treasurer of the league for a number of years, in addition to the championships decided on the night when the winners, runners up and semi finalists received trophies there were also presentations to league champions Highwayman 'B', runners up Police Club, third place Red Lion, bottom place Market, most wins and most tons Sylvia Griffin, 180 certificates to Sylvia Griffin, Kath Carhart, Beryl Kitto, Tracy Hocking and Michelle Hale. The trophy for the highest finish was awarded posthumously to Jenny Wilton of London Inn for her 120 check out.
