Liskeard Area Ladies Darts League
Representatives from four different teams qualified to compete in the semi finals of the doubles competition at last Wednesdays finals night. Helen Harris and Carole Cooke of Red Lion, Barbara Bresland and Gwen Killingley of White Hart 'A', Sue Williams and Angie Kurn of The Market and Sylvia Griffin and Michelle Haley of Highwayman 'B' were the four pairings who came through from the earlier rounds played at Dobsons.
Helen and Carole beat Wendy Powell and Grace Mccarthy, Beryl Kitto and Jan Stevens and Jenny Marshall and Alison Libby to secure their place. Barbara and Gwen had a bye in the first round and then beat Sarah Strand and Karen Baker and Lyn Clitheroe and Tash Champion. Sue and Angie also had a bye in the first round but to secure their semi final place had wins against Sharon Julian and Esther Williams and Jill Vine and Suzanne Jones. Sylvia and Michelle beat Wendy Blyth and Wendy Reddicliffe, Jan Martin and Myra Bettison and Carol Hoar and Sharon Cole to complete the quartet of pairs in the semi finals.
Players are reminded that the weekly Charity Blind Doubles Tournaments for ladies commence at A.F.C. Dobsons on Wednesday 9th June when all those wishing to play must sign in by 8-00 p.m. at the latest
