Environmentalists in Whitsand Bay have set the ball rolling for a second legal challenge to the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) over licences for the dumping of dredged material from Plymouth off Rame Head.

A successful crowdfunding campaign started by Millbrook couple Tonny Steenhagen and Deb Hoskin has brought in over £6,000.

More than £180 was collected in one three-hour period in Millbrook alone, and various events have been staged to gather the significant resources needed to take the matter to the High Court.

Judicial Review claim papers have now been filed, and the couple continue to raise funds to cover the ongoing costs of employing a legal team.
