A lead worker from Tremar has created a new feature for the bell tower in St Columb Major, near Newquay.
Tim Fuge was asked by the town council to design a replacement in the style of the St Columb Major silver hurling ball.
The ball has the town’s motto band around it, and was designed so that it could be opened up.
The new feature will replace the existing wooden ornament on the tower, which was found to have irreparable damage due to weathering.
The space inside the new finial has since been used as a time capsule by children from the local primary school, who included in it their ideas for what a perfect future might be.
Tim was there to watch, along with pupils from St Columb Major Academy, as the ball was installed on the tower.
