IN this season of New Year resolutions and big changes ahead soon in the way we watch TV, it seems prudent to help others with the impending switchover to digital television.
With only three months to go until the start of the switchover in the Westcountry, Digital UK is urging people to be a good neighbour, help an elderly friend or relative to switch to digital by installing equipment and helping them to set it up – especially if they're anxious about what to do. Digital boxes cost around £20 so we would encourage you to think about this as a great present for someone special this year, providing them with more choice in channels and better quality viewing.
There are other ways to get digital television too; either through a satellite dish, cable television or broadband. The main thing is whatever equipment you're buying, make sure it has the 'digital tick' logo which means it will work after switchover.
Digital UK is the independent body leading the implementation of switchover and if you have any questions visit http://www.digitaluk.co.uk">www.digitaluk.co.uk or call our helpline on 0845 6 50 50 50.
In the meantime, we would like to wish you the very best for 2009.
