Families in the Launceston area can enjoy a free fun day from 11am on October 8 in Coronation Park celebrating the success of a voluntary smoking ban in the park.
Special signage in the parks requests that children be allowed to play smokefree.
It’s also the final event in a week of activities highlighting issues caused by illegal tobacco sales.
Children visiting the fun day can enjoy a treasure hunt, games, a bouncy castle and a magic show. Adults will be able to pick up information about stopping smoking as well as advice on alcohol and nutrition at the health promotion stand.
Trading Standards will be explaining the effects of illegal tobacco on local communities and businesses, and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service will be on hand with a fire engine, information about home fire safety and the chance to book free home fire safety checks.
A recent follow up survey found that all those questioned supported the ban, including smokers as well as non-smokers.
Smokefree Cornwall plan to install smokefree signage in another six play parks over the next year.
