A new singing group for anyone living with a lung condition has been set up in Liskeard.
The group has been launched by the British Lung Foundation because research has shown singing helps people living with lung conditions, such as COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), preserve their lung function and quality of life.
The sessions will be led by Emily Foulkes, who has been trained to ensure the classes are not just fun, but can make a positive difference to each singer’s lung health.
She said: ‘I am passionate about singing and believe that everyone can enjoy the many positive benefits of singing together with other people. There’s no expectation for people to be able to read music or to have any prior singing experience.’
The group meets on Fridays, 10.30am-12noon, at the Liskerrett Community Centre, during term time, and the sessions cost £3. For more information email [email protected] or call 07702 675397.
